You know Habitat for Humanity does new construction, but did you know we also SALVAGE BUILDINGS? Our salvage teams selectively remove building components for resale or recycling. We focus on giving reusable materials a new life by means of careful removal by our skilled salvage crew.
Habitat for Humanity ReStore Salvage teams provide non-structural salvage services. We carefully remove cabinets, sinks, appliances, doors, and more. We sell your donation in our ReStore to raise funds for our Habitat for Humanity York County affordable housing mission. You receive a tax deduction for the items you donate and keep reusable items out of our local landfill. You also save money in waste disposal fees.
- Call our Salvage Manager, at (207) 502-7021 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a walk-through of your home.
- The Salvage manager will contact you to discuss your donation.
- If the salvage project is feasible (assuming the value of materials salvaged is greater than the cost of labor and transportation) we will set up a date for the salvage.
- Once the salvage is complete, you will receive an itemized tax receipt for the salvaged materials donated to the ReStore. The donor determines the value for salvaged items.
The Habitat ReStore is covered by an umbrella policy that covers all employees and volunteers on site. Certificates of Insurance are available upon request.
