By volunteering with Habitat, you can be a part of creating affordable housing for households in York County. Whether you're cashiering in the ReStore, hammering nails on the construction site, or serving on one of our committees we hope you'll find the volunteer opportunity that is right for you!

ReStore

All proceeds from the ReStore support Habitat's affordable housing mission

The ReStore has volunteer shifts Wednesday-Saturday from 9-12 and 12-4.

The morning shift: Join us before the store is open for shopping. Help arrange the sales floor, receive donations, test and clean donations, and prepare the store for shopping

The afternoon shift: Join us during shopping hours, greet customers, mark items as sold, assist customers with purchases.

While lifting isn't a requirement to volunteer, we are always looking for more volunteers to help move furniture!

Build

Join us on the construction site and help us build homes

The build site is open to volunteers of all experience levels. Our skilled construction manager will train all new volunteers. Volunteers are not ask to complete any tasks they are uncomfortable with.

The build site schedule varies but is typically open Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The build day is from 8:30-3:30, with a break for lunch around noon. Visit the volunteer sign up to see the most up to date build schedule.

Groups

Organize your coworkers, friends or organization to volunteer with Habitat

Groups are welcome on both the build site and the ReStore.

Build Site Groups: Are capped at 6 people and require a donation from all businesses and for profit organizations volunteer. Most group build days are scheduled on Fridays.

Kennebunk ReStore Groups: With enough notice the ReStore can hosts groups of up to 20 people. No donation is required to volunteer.

Help plan, maintain, and grow Habitat's programs

Committee work is an integral part of our work, and can be a pathway to board membership.

Habitat has 5 active committees:

Many first-time volunteers, or folks new to Habitat have questions about what volunteering will be like. What if I have no construction experience? What should I expect during a volunteer day? Please reach out to us with any questions you have about volunteering and getting involved with Habitat York County!
